Today the cadets had two events that blew their minds. First they toured the Wright Army Air Field. They climb the control tower and saw the “big picture” of the airfield, after which they went to see the MQ-5B Hunter Unmanned Aerial Vehicle. They had a chance to ask the manager of maintenance questions about the MQ-5B. After they went to the hanger they went out to the runway and saw the MQ-5B fly. They then proceeded to the airfield fire department. They saw all the latest in airplane fire technology and had a chance to talk first hand with the men who man the station. They then went to the civilian terminal and saw the inner workings of airfield management as well as learning a little bit of history about the airfield. After lunch they went to the Donovan Parade Field and were picked up for a ride in a CH-47 Chinook. The cadets were separated into seven chalks (groups) and taken for a 25 minute ride. At the end of the day the cadets were glad for the experience they had and looked forward to the last couple of days ahead.
