All cadets started out day 2 with a 1-hour PT session at 6 a.m. The PT included a test of push-ups, sit-ups, Sit and Reach, and the mile run. After that cadets were well fed with a big breakfast. Each flight then worked on formation drill. Religious services were offered by the base chapel and the encampment Moral Leadership Officer. For lunch, the cadets consumed MREs (Meals Ready to Eat), and most of the cadets seem to enjoy the MREs quite a bit. Classes were held in the afternoon on radio-controlled flight and Ultimate Frisbee; unfortunately, the flights that were scheduled late in the afternoon were scrubbed due to winds that were out-of-limits for the small aircraft. Later on this week the cadets will use these instructions to compete against others in a radio-controlled “fly off” to see who is the best R/C pilot. Several of the flights had their pictures taken in their blue uniforms, but rain cut short the photo session for Alpha and Bravo flights. Lights Out is scheduled for 2130 hrs (9:30 p.m.). As you can see, the cadets are keeping quite busy moving from one activity to another, and the busy part of the week hasn’t even started yet!
